The Florida-born entertainer has appeared on the series "I'll Fly Away," "Night Court" and "In the Heat of the Night."

He hosted the VH-1 comedy series, "Vinyl Justice," KABC's "Countdown to the American Music Awards" and the PBS special "Safe Night."

And he has a Hawaii connection. He met his wife Mandie Taketa, a Castle High School grad, here.
