Celebrate holidays with
gifts of donations
to feed hungry

Instead of another T-shirt or coffee mug, the Institute for Human Services is suggesting a donation to IHS in the names of people on your holiday gift list.

For $10, IHS will send a card that acknowledges the donation to the person you name. That amount will pay for the basic daily cost of food and shelter for one person at IHS.

Hand-addressed, personalized cards with the donor's return address will be mailed to the recipient or donors may opt to mail the cards themselves.

Donations must be made by Dec. 4 for Hanukkah and by Dec. 11 for Christmas. Order forms are available by calling IHS at 845-7150. Forms will be available on IHS' Web site at IHS-hawaii.org after Nov. 1. Email orders should be directed to Cards@IHS-hawaii.org. Credit card orders may be faxed to 845-7190.

IHS operates two homeless shelters in Honolulu. It offers 24-hour walk-in shelter, three hot meals a day, showers, hygiene supplies, clothing, dental and medical care, substance abuse counseling and job training to people with no homes.
