Gov. Ben Cayetano has appointed two new members of the Campaign Spending Commission and reappointed a third, bringing the five-person board back up to full staff. Cayetano appoints

spending panelThe new commissioners are Mona Chock and Richard Choy. Cayetano also reappointed Della Au to the commission.
Chock is an administrator with the community and alumni relations department of the University of Hawaii.
Choy was president of Paradise Optical Co. until he retired in 1993.
He is a former member of the state Land Use Commission and Hawaii Community Development Authority.
Au is a former Maryknoll High School teacher who is now attending the University of Hawaii law school.
The current members are Duane Black, chairman, and Clifford Muraoka.
GOP 'TALK STORY':
The last Republican "talk story" rally of this election season will be tomorrow in Kaimuki at Wilson Elementary School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.Featured speakers include GOP Chairwoman Linda Lingle, Senate District 9 candidate Theresa Chun and Republican state House candidates Barbara Marumoto, District 17; Wayne Gau, District 18; Mindy Jaffe, District 19; and Scott Matsumoto, District 20.
The rally will feature free chili and rice, entertainment and door prizes.
OHA 'wake up call':
"Ask not what Hawaii can do for you, but what you can do for Hawaii," says Office of Hawaiian Affairs candidate "Big Mike" Palcic.Palcic, 51, has adopted President John F. Kennedy's call to service that was part of Kennedy's 1961 inaugural address.
"I'm no Jack Kennedy, but I know that the people of Hawaii need a wake-up call," said Palcic, who is not Hawaiian but is hanai to the Kanahele family of Waimanalo.
"Many native Hawaiians, in particular, have been led down the path of professional-victim status and taught they are owed a vast array of public support," he said.
"Let's stop acting like pathetic beggars and look instead to make our own contribution to a better Hawaii."
