Now you know

JUST TWO MORE WEEKS...

Bullet Let's see if we can anticipate your next question -- the Oahu Interscholastic Association football playoffs begin Oct. 26 and 27 at Aloha Stadium.

Two first-round games are slated for each night, with kickoffs at 5:05 and 7:35 p.m. and the league's four state tournament berths at stake.

The semifinals are Nov. 2, and the OIA title game is Nov. 10.

Here's how the first-round seedings go: The No. 1 Red Division team plays No. 3 White; 2 Red plays 2 White; 3 Red plays 5 Red and 1 White plays 4 Red.

Back in the day

TWELVE YEARS AGO THIS WEEK

Bullet Sean Cavaco continued his stellar bowling season for Aiea, helping Na Alii to a sweep of Waianae in an Oahu Interscholastic Association match. Cavaco rolled a 623 series against the Seariders, for a 207 average -- just above his season average of 205.

Cavaco led Aiea to the league team championship in November, spearheading the win over McKinley with a team-high 229 game.
