Two in Vegas shooting
will face murder trial

Associated Press

LAS VEGAS -- A Clark County grand jury has indicted two men in the fatal shooting of a tourist at Harrah's hotel-casino last month.

Stephen Mullen Jr. and Michael Frimmel each are charged with murder with the use of a deadly weapon and 19 other counts in the indictment, unsealed yesterday morning.

Mullen, 32, remains in detention on $850,000 bail and is to be arraigned Thursday.

Frimmel, 31, is fighting extradition from New Jersey.

Police said Mullen fired his gun while security officers were trying to detain the two men in connection with several recent thefts in the casino.

Heather Vitarelli, a 29-year-old Maui resident attending college in Napa, Calif., was struck in the back and killed.
