This time the Wahine scored the final goal, but it wasn't enough to overcome two early goals by Cal State Northridge.
Melissa Cleal, with a score at 8:28, and Kris von Krog, with the goal that proved to be the game winner at 21:30, led the Matadors to a 2-1 nonconference win yesterday at North Campus Stadium.
The seven consecutive setbacks ties the in-season record set in 1996 and 1997. UH had a 10-loss streak covering the end of 1995 through the beginning of 1996.
The Wahine (2-7-1) avoided the shutout when Camille Kalama scored at 78:55 with an assist from Erin Schremser.
However, the UH players that normally occupy the striker positions did not get off any shots.
The Matadors (3-4-3) won their second consecutive match by controlling the action and outshooting Hawaii, 18-9. Nine of those shots were on goal.
Hawaii plays San Jose State (4-7-0) in the Western Athletic Conference opener for both teams Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Waipio Soccer Stadium.
