The 6:30 p.m. meeting in the Laulima Room of the James Campbell Building is the first of a series that will be held by the Transportation Committee of the City Council.

The Council must decide on a preferred alternative of the plan. Indications are that Council members will approve a "bus rapid transit" (BRT) plan devised largely by a community-based planning group.

That plan calls for a hub-and-spoke bus system in rural areas and an electric bus or trolley line through town.
