Star-Bulletin staff

Ben Villaflor's 50-yard field goal attempt with seconds remaining fell short and No. 9 Mililani escaped with a 29-27 victory over host Aiea last night in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Red Division football game.

Na Alii set up the field goal try by recovering an onside kick after Chris Antonio caught his third touchdown pass from Lole Laolagi, a 13-yarder.

Mililani extended a 12-6 lead after Aiea fumbled a reverse on the opening kickoff of the second half.

On the next play, Kali French hit Trey Brown for a 16-yard score.

Brian Daniels, the Red's leading rusher, gained 66 yards on 20 carries.

French ran for three touchdowns, including the eventual game-winner in the fourth quarter.
