Lenn Sakata (Kalani) managed the Bakersfield Blaze to the second-half title of the North Division in the Class A California League.
Onan Masaoka (Waiakea HS), a left-handed relief pitcher, was recalled by the Los Angeles Dodgers from Albuquerque, N.M., at the conclusion of the Pacific Coast League season.
Jerome Williams (Waipahu) was promoted by the San Francisco Giants from San Jose (California League) to Shreveport, La., in the Class AA Texas League Sept. 1. He didn't see action in the regular season, but started the second game of the Texas League playoffs, pitching two-hit ball for seven innings, but took the loss as the Captains fell to Wichita, 1-0.
Dusty Bergman (Hawaii), a left-handed starting pitcher, after losing a complete-game effort, 2-1, for Cedar Rapids in the Midwest League, Aug.30, was promoted to Lake Elsinore in the California League. Lake Elsinore is involved in league playoffs.
