Robert C. Dendinger, 78, of Hilo, formerly of Phoenix, a retired supervisor in the purchasing department for the City of Phoenix, died Sunday in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in El Paso, Texas. He is survived by wife Merle and sister Jean Hazelett. No services.

Masaharu Ebesu, 85, of Kapaa, Kauai, a retired working foreman for the County of Kauai, died Tuesday in Pearl City Nursing Home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by sons Alan H. and Jerry T., sisters Kikuno Iwai and Yoshie Okubo and three grandchildren. Services: 6 p.m. Monday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Casual attire. No flowers.

Brother Roland J. Hinger, 76, of Honolulu, a former teacher at St. Louis School, died Monday in St. Francis Hospice. He was born in Cleveland. Charlotte K. Hussey, 86, of Waipahu died last Friday at home. She was born in Paukaa, Hawaii. She is survived by daughters Monica B. Wood and Charlotte K. Masako Fujiwara King, 78, of Honolulu, retired owner and manager of Cal-Oahu Sandals and Islander Thongs, died Aug. 9 on the mainland. She was born in Oyama, Japan. Lionel N. Lima, 40, of Kaunakakai died Monday in Kaunakakai. He was born in Hoolehua, Molokai. Josephine D. Rhodehamel, 98, of Kihei, a retired librarian at Tulane County Library, died Tuesday at home. She was born in Soda Springs, Idaho. She is survived by daughter Michele Driscoll, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Private services.

Bert A. Thompson, 80, of Kihei, a retired commander for the U.S. Navy, died Tuesday in Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Coffeville, Kan. George K. Uahinui, 28, of Waianae died Aug. 27 in Waianae. He was born in Honolulu. Charee Aoe Keohokapu Whitford-Cantrell, infant daughter of Charla Whitford and Clifford Cantrell died Sunday in Honolulu. Fausto A. Zafaralla, 74, of Waipahu, a retired elementary school teacher, died Aug. 18. He was born in the Philippines.
