Today, Hawaii's oldest online newspaper makes its entry into the newest form of electronic publishing.
The latest generation of digital cellular phones can access specially formatted Web sites, variously called the wireless Web, wireless Internet and the mobile Web. We've gone wireless
We believe in making it as convenient as possible to keep abreast of the latest Hawaii news. In short, we aim to give you Hawaii's news whenever and however you want it, wherever on earth you happen to be.
The wireless Web can give you that freedom. And so, today we offer holo.starbulletin.com, the wireless edition of the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
Currently holo.starbulletin.com offers news briefs posted direct from the Star-Bulletin newsroom and a link to let you call in news tips. In the coming weeks we plan to add other features that lend themselves to access by cellular phones. (Please note that because the site is formatted especially for wireless phones, most conventional computer browser programs cannot view it.)
If your cellular phone or your account are not yet Web-enabled, you will have to arrange that with your cellular phone provider before you can access the new service. Note that not all models of phone can access the wireless Web, and some cellular phone providers charge extra for access.
If your cellular phone and account are already Web-enabled, you can enter holo.starbulletin.com into your phone's keypad or account-management page, then set a bookmark. If you want help, we have basic instructions and sample screens here.
Then you too can access news from the Star-Bulletin as you run, sail, ride or go.
With aloha, from Starbulletin.com.
