Eric Kadooka has been named the new varsity baseball coach at Punahou School. Punahou has new

"Eric brings an unbelievable work ethic to our program," athletic director Tom Holden said. "He's a young, energetic guy who is like a sponge the way he absorbs the game."
Kadooka is a 1986 Punahou graduate who played shortstop for the Buffanblu's Interscholastic League of Honolulu championship team that year.
Kadooka has been a junior varsity assistant at Punahou the past two years, and headed the school's summer baseball program the past two summers. He coached Punahou to the championship of the 18-under division in the Baseball in Paradise Tournament earlier this month.
Kadooka replaces Kala Ka'aihue, who resigned last spring.
Jones at QB Club lunch
University of Hawaii football coach June Jones headlines a list of speakers at Monday's Honolulu Quarterback Club luncheon meeting at the Pagoda Hotel.Lunch is 11:30 and the program starts at noon.
Also scheduled to speak are the Warriors' running backs coach Wes Suan and K.C. Carlberg, race director of the Niketown Na Wahine Triathlon.
Degen on all-star team
Former University of Hawaii all-conference player Dana Degen, has been named to the Women's Pro Softball League all-star team that will play Team USA next week at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.The all-stars will play three games against the Olympic team. The first is a solo game at 5 p.m. next Saturday, with a doubleheader next Sunday beginning at 2 p.m.
Team USA will also play the Wahine in a Sept. 6 doubleheader at 5 p.m. Hawaii Pacific faces the U.S. on Sept. 7 in a single game at 2 p.m.
