The medical examiner's office identified her as Nancy Phongsavath of a Kalauna Street address. She died at Queen's Medical Center's intensive care unit, where she had been taken with head and leg injuries.
Phongsavath had been walking with two other girls, 12 and 10, near 2003 Kamehameha IV Road on the east side when they were hit by the van, driven by a 23-year-old man, at about 4:25 p.m., police said.
The two other girls remain in critical condition at Queen's. Two of the three girls are sisters, but police would not identify them. They all live in Kalihi Valley Housing.
All three suffered head, leg and internal injuries.
The van, traveling north, first sideswiped the back of an unattended parked car, police said. After hitting the girls, the van hit a garage and driveway stone wall at 2003 Kamehameha IV Road. The driver and an 8-year-old girl in the van were not injured.
Road conditions were clear and speed and alcohol did not appear to have been factors in the accident, police said.
