One way to obtain your dream kitchen is to do it yourself.
Home Depot offers a series of classes to help
would-be remodelers.
Classes will meet 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays at the store at 421 Ala Kawa St.
Registration is required at the store's Special Services Desk.
The schedule:
Sept. 7 -- "Cabinet Planning and Installation," how to prepare, plan and install kitchen cabinets.Students will receive training guides and a Home Depot University apron for participating. They will also receive a diploma upon completion of all four classes.Sept. 14 -- "Tile Countertops," preparation and installation.
Sept. 21 -- "Kitchen Plumbing," installing sinks, faucets, garbage disposal and dishwasher.
Sept. 28 -- "Pergo Flooring," requirements and techniques for installation.

Tickets, which go on sale on Aug. 26 at 9 a.m., are $35 and $65.

Hard Candy's Mohajer visits
Hard Candy makeovers. Founder Dineh Mohajer is returning for a Coffee Talk with fans of her makeup line.She'll introduce Hard Candy's new line of caffeinated lipsticks between 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday at Neiman Marcus.
The new lipsticks contain .6 percent caffeine, .about 18 milligrams per tube. For those concerned about diet, the lipsticks are fat free.
There are three shades available, Lipachino, Latte Lip and Café O Lipstick. Three more shades will launch in the fall.
Mohajer will also show Hard Candy's Sonic Shine shimmer stick for face and body and her latest glitter nail polishes. Complimentary makeup consultations will be available noon to 5 p.m. Make an appointment by calling 948-7581.

Search on for fest 'royalty'
No sooner is one celebration over than planning for another begins.Ask the folks with the King Kamehameha Celebration Commission. Events for this year took place less than two months ago and they are now accepting applications for next year.
Positions are available for grand marshal, pa'u queen, princesses and attendants as well as someone to portray Mo'i (king) Kamehameha.
Also being sought are volunteers to assist in all phases of the celebration including parade lineup and starters, equestrian unit control and pa'u dressers (techniques will be taught), parking control and lei stringers.
Vendors for the annual folklife festival are also being sought.

Hapa tickets available
Tickets are on sale for the first concert of Hawaii Theatre's 2000-01 Millennium Hawaiian Music Series opening Sept. 1 with Hapa.The duo, featuring Keli'i Kaneali'i and Barry Flanagan, is known for melting borders between Hawaiian and contemporary music.
Opening for Hapa at 7:30 p.m. will be the group Ko'u Mana'o, selected during an islandwide search for new talent.
