New Zealand was officially named the champion of the 12th Biennial Kenwood Cup Hawaii International Offshore Series yesterday. Its official:

The announcement was anti-climactic for New Zealand, which knew on Monday it was the "unofficial" winner.
The final result was delayed because the race's jury had to hear appeals by New Zealand's Big Apple 3 and Australia's Smile.
Both yachts spent time in Sunday's final race responding to a Mayday call by Cha-Ching. Big Apple was ahead of Smile at the time of the emergency call, and the jury ruled it needed to travel further and spend more time than Smile in helping Cha-Ching.
After the jury's time adjustments, Big Apple 3 won by enough time to clinch the overall victory.
Australia finished in second place, followed in order by USA Red, Japan, USA White and USA Blue.
