Pearlridge Center
Redeye Frog will talk about his home.
The two critters are animatronic spokescreatures for Amazon Adventure, an interactive exhibit that will be open at Pearlridge Center Saturday through Sept. 3.
The many displays explore the people, animals, products and layers of the rain forest, from forest floor through the canopy. Children are invited to seek out the facts in a scavenger hunt that will take them to more displays throughout the mall.
An Exploration Station Technology Lab offers computer displays that allow cyber explorers to create animated stories or tour the Amazon River. The lab will be open noon to 8 p.m. weekends and 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. weekdays.
From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, the Worldlife Preservation Foundation will make presentations about rehabilitating baby birds that will include appearances by winged guests.
Ching, who has been at KITV since 1995, will serve as the station news anchor on weekends and do one feature story a week, a KITV official said.
Ching's contract was rewritten to allow him to pursue his education.
