The Pacific Islander community of San Diego will be putting on their island shirts as they celebrate with the Padres. Pre-game festivities include a potluck tailgate party in the parking lot with Polynesian entertainment.
Nelson Ishii, owner of Da Kine's Restaurants will be assembling the biggest spam musubi for consideration by the Guinness Book of World Records. His masterpiece is expected to include over 700-pounds of rice, over 2,000 cans of Spam, and 5,000 sheets of dried seaweed. He plans on making it 25-feet wide and 45-feet long with a weight of over 1,500 pounds in two hours or less.
Matthew Porter from the Samoan community will be singing the National Anthem and Aunty Dolly of the Hawaiian community will be throwing out the first pitch.
The Padres are asking fans to put on their island wear and to bring an umbrella, beach chairs and something for the grill.
