Gladys N. Fujishima, 79, of Honolulu, a retired waitress at the Coral Reef restaurant, died Thursday in Queen's Hospital. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by sons Dewey P. Carter and Horace R. Carter; brothers Thomas Hokama, Sam Hokama, George Hokama and Rev. Shinsei Hokama; sister Clara McKenna, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services: noon Thursday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Aloha attire. No flowers.

Howard H. Hirata, 91, of Honolulu, a retired City and County Board of Water Supply operating engineer, died June 24 in Kuakini Hospital. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by daughters Naomi Harada, Amy Takahashi and Hilda Bell; sisters Yoshino Yokota, Shizuko Nagasawa, Hazel Yamauchi and Grace Koike; brother Richard, and four grandchildren. Doris H. Imaoka, 80, of Honolulu, a retired Columbia Inn waitress, died June 30 in Kuakini Hospital. She was born in Makawao, Maui. She is survived by sons David T. Kaneshiro, Allan Kaneshiro, Erwin T. Imaoka and Ersten Y. Imaoka; daughter Arlene A. Otaguro; sisters Alice A. Kitazaki and Sandra S. Tengan; brothers Takejiro Tengan, Eishin Tengan, James T. Tengan and George S. Tengan, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Private services.

Tian-Pei Jian, 79, of Honolulu, died June 27 in St. Francis Hospice West. He was born in China. He is survived by wife Rui Z.; sons Henry Kan, King L. Kan and Warren Kan; daughters Yuk S. Kan, Yuk H. Kan and Yuk M. Kan; brother Ping Y. Kan; sister Yit K. Hui, and 13 grandchildren. Taoist services Thursday at Borthwick Mortuary. Tamayo Kawate, 98, of Honolulu, a retired cook, died June 27 in Kuakini Geriatric Care. She was born in Makawele, Kauai. She is survived by sons Kenneth K. and Tsutomu Kawate; sisters Ruth Morita, Gladys Anzai, Marsha Nakamura and Alice Watanabe, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Private services.

Tadashi Kobayashi, 77, of Lahaina, retired from Pioneer Mill, died Friday in Maui Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lahaina. Concepcion A. Lazaro, 80, of Honolulu, died June 21 in St. Francis Hospital. She was born in the Philippines.
