Parker Ranch adds 4 directors to board
WAIMEA, Hawaii -- Parker Ranch said today it is expanding its board of directors to seven from three, as the large Big Island ranch looks to diversify. "The future depends more and more on links to the visitor industry, land development and further diversification, said director Carl Carlson.The new directors are:
Matt Echeverria, a senior vice president at Tejon Ranch Co. in Southern California.The four new directors join current directors Carlson, Mel Hewett, and Tom Whittemore.
Gary L. Gifford, president of Maui Land & Pineapple Co.
Herbert "Monty" Richards, president of Kahua Ranch on the Big Island
Patrick K. Sullivan, founder and president of Oceanit Laboratories, an engineering, research, and development company.
Pizza business sets stock offering plans
WASHINGTON -- California Pizza Kitchen Inc. said it has set an initial public offering at 5.3 million common shares in a range of $13-$15, terms that could net the restaurant chain about $68.3 million in proceeds. The Los Angeles-based firm plans to use $40 million to repay bank debt, $23.7 million due for the automatic conversion of outstanding preferred stock and the rest for general corporate purposes. California Pizza, which originally filed a preliminary IPO prospectus in May with the Securities & Exchange Commission, disclosed the terms of the offering for the first time today. California Pizza has applied for a Nasdaq listing under the symbol "CPKI".
Feds sue to stop Toysmart.com move
BOSTON -- Toysmart.com Inc., majority owned by Walt Disney Co., was sued by the Federal Trade Commission, which wants to block the bankrupt Internet retailer from selling personal information about its customers.The suit filed in U.S. District Court in Boston seeks a court order against Toysmart to halt it from selling the names, addresses, billing information, family profiles and buying habits of consumers who have visited the company's Web site.
