Can 13 women keep a secret? Heck no! At least not in the case of Ruth Ann Becker's "surprise" 50thMug shot birthday party. SuAnn Bamer, Kathy Halpin and Robyn Schaefer set things up to have the gals whisk the Becker Communications owner to Molokai Ranch for what they call a "Rootin', Tootin', Rompin', Stompin' 50th Birthday Bonanza" July 8-10. But someone let the cat out of the bag. However, that hasn't dampened the women's enthusiasm one bit. Beside the organizers and Ruth Ann, making the trip are Candy Aluli, Carole Brooks, Mary Lou Foley, Merilyn Gray, Marion Heath, Eileen Mortenson, Mimi MacNaughton and Gina Schultz. Elissa Josephsohn is pals with Rip Taylor and told the comedian she has cats named Mel Gibson Josephsohn and Harrison Ford Josephsohn that she sleeps with every night. Not too long ago, Rip was on the Jay Leno's "Tonight Show" with Ford, and Rip told the actor that Elissa Josephsohn has a cat named after him that she sleeps with every night. A three-day wine and food festival, "Down by the Sea," at the Hilton Hawaiian Village July 28-30 will benefit Rehab Hospital. Family ArtSpree activity

ArtSpree 2000, The Contemporary Museum's gift to the community, will take place July 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum. Hands-on participation, demonstrations and performances of contemporary dance, music, visual art and storytelling are planned. Uke star Jake Shimabukuro will perform.
