Klemm will be sidelined
throughout Patriots camp

From staff and wire reports

Former University of Hawaii guard Adrian Klemm said he will be on crutches for another six weeks before he can walk with a cane.

Klemm damaged the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee on June 3 in a New England Patriots mini-camp scrimmage and will be sidelined throughout the Patriots' training camp.

"Right now I have a brace that stretches from my groin all the way to my ankle to keep my leg stabilized, so I can't drive or anything," said Klemm in a phone interview from his home in Canton, Mass.

"And I have a CPM machine that keeps my leg in constant movement and flexes it," he said. "So I try to keep it in there as much as possible.

"Actually I'm supposed to be at 90 degrees in three weeks and this is only the second week and I'm already 87 degrees. So, I'm ahead of schedule. It's healing real fast."

Projections are that the Patriots' top draft choice could be out several weeks into the regular season.

He's getting plenty of requests from the New England media, but he feels guilty about doing interviews. "I haven't done anything yet," he said.
