The state's top high school golfers -- representing five different leagues -- will compete in the first Hawaii All-Star Invitational tomorrow and Monday at the Olomana Golf Links. Prep all-star golf
starts todayBesides a 36-hole individual competition, the format calls for the leagues to compete against each other with the low three boys' scores and one girl's score used for the final total.
Each league -- the Oahu Interscholastic Federation, the Interscholastic League of Honolulu, the Kauai Interscholastic Federation, the Maui Interscholastic League and the Big Island Interscholastic Federation -- has six players competing from the various member high schools.
Jr. tennis coaches named
The coaches who will lead Hawaii's best junior tennis players to USTA national competitions this summer have been namedThe top boys players in the state will travel to South Carolina at the end of July, led by East Honolulu teaching pro Chanon Alcon.
The Girls 18 team travels to California in August, under the guidance of UH-Hilo's Kula Oda.
Wayne Barnes and Ryan Ideta will coach the 12-and-under team to Arizona in July.
David Chang will head the 14-and-under team as it heads to Florida in early July.
Mark Elliott and Brian Thomas will head separate 16-and-under squads to Utah and Louisiana.
Billfish tourney openings
The 41st Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament, scheduled for July 31-Aug. 4 off Kailua-Kona on the Big Island, is accepting entry applications.The HIBT is open to any team representing a club, city, state or country.

Davis to Missouri college
