Returning "2" guard Predrag Savovic will have someone who speaks a familiar tongue on this coming season's University of Hawaii basketball team.

The program has signed a 6-foot-9, 220-pound post player from Montenegro, Savovic's home country.

Bosko Radovic will join 6-9 returning starter Troy Ostler, 6-10 Israeli Haim Shimonovic, and 7-0 Todd Fields in the Rainbows' stable of low post men.

Radovic's addition gives Hawaii much more depth in height than it had last year when only Ostler and Fields were 6-9 or taller.

"With Radovic this one of the best recruiting classes we've had," said Rainbows head coach Riley Wallace. "We got the big guys we needed and wanted and it will probably be rated a top 20 recruting class."

Assistant coach Scott Rigot said Radovic will play small forward or power forward.

"He can handle the ball, he has good range, can hit the deep '3' consistently, he's a good passer, good inside scorer and he has the tools to be a great player," said Rigot.

Radovic will come in as a freshman, as will Shimonovic.

Ostler and Fields will be seniors.

Radovic signed a few weeks ago, but had to clear academically before the school would announce his signing.

Albert Tecul Real, the freshman guard signed from Barcelona, Spain, during the winter, will leave the program to open a 13th scholarship for Radovic. Tecul Real reportedly will attend a smaller school.

Seven of the 13 scholarship players next season will be foreigners.
