Spirit Of Powwow

Eleven-year-old Jeremy Vento donned a Cherokee headpiece
at the 7th annual Intertribal Council of Hawaii Powwow 2000
at Kapiolani Park yesterday. The headpiece consists of the
skin of a coyote and hawk feathers.
Students Unveil Mural

Aiea Intermediate eighth-grade students unveil their 5-foot by
6-foot mural in the school's library. The students involved in
the mural project are, from left: Stacy Matsuo, 13; Kim Mapanao,
14; Caryn Corpuz, 14; Briana Gayer, 13, and Crystal Lam, 14.
The mural will be moved later to Aiea's public library where it
will be on display during the summer.
