George K. Aki, 58, of Loma Linda, Calif., a retired tech sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, died April 4. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by brothers Helmut, Harvey, Hilton, Hunter, Harmon and Julian Aki and James Makaehu, and sisters Melinda Souza, Patricia Schreiber and Luana Peterson. Memorial services: 9 a.m. Saturday at Haleiwa Alii Beach Park.

Howard S.H. Chun, 56, of Honolulu, a proprietor of Howard's Chinatown Market, died May 6 in University Hospital in Las Vegas. He was also an employee of J.W. Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Lorraine; sons Vincent, Stacey and Grant; mother Edna; brothers Ronald and Bradley; sisters Meryle Nishimura and Beverly Goo, and a granddaughter. Patsy F. Emoto, a retired waitress, died Saturday in St. Francis-West Hospice. She was born in Waipahu. She is survived by daughters Diane Uehara and Karen Inn; son Arick; sisters Helen Kaneshiro and Alice Miyasato; brothers James, Timothy, Kaiso, Renny and Edward Yasuda, three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Eleno V. Espiritu, 66, of Kaneohe, who retired from Honolulu Roofing, died Friday in St. Francis-West Hospice. He was born in Ewa. He is survived by wife Filomena; son Daniel; daughter Elena Akamine; brothers Marcelo Espiritu and Pete Balen; sisters Dolores Baysa, Rosaria Manibog, Lola Asuncion and Adulina and Adele Balen, and two grandchildren. Joseph A. Garcia, 31, of San Diego, a restaurant manager at the Islands Restaurant, died April 25 in Kona Community Hospital. He was born in Long Beach, Calif. Steven M. "Steve" Ginoza, 28, of Honolulu, a civil engineer for the Board of Water Supply, died Sunday. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by parents Frank and Jessie; brother Peter; sisters Sandi Takayama and Susan Ginoza, and grandfather Fusao Tanabe. Services: 6 p.m. Sunday at Diamond Head Mortuary. Andrea A. Hernando, 78, of Honolulu died April 19 in Maluhia Hospital. She was born in the Philippines. Keola C. Kapu, of Newark, Calif., an electrician, died May 9. He was born in Kahuku. He is survived by wife Trinh; sons Ikaika, Maika and Junior Gunning; parents Donna and John III; sisters Kristina Gomez and Raenee Baily; brothers John IV, Gordon and Aaron, and grandfather Simion Bautista. Elizabeth Lyons, 85, died last Wednesday in Aloha Nursing and Rehab Center. She is survived by daughter Nancy and two granddaughters. Services held.

Isuke Muraoka, 96, of Wahiawa, a retired tailor from Morioka Tailor, died May 1 in Pearl City Nursing Home. He was born in Yamaguchi, Japan. He is survived by sons Walter, Lawrence and Chester; daughters Marianne Mercier, Lucy Yokoo and Elsie Takemura; sisters Betsy Seki and Kinue Nishimura, 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Charles Soares, 74, of Waipahu died Sunday at home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by daughters Charlotte Brown and Linda Cabael; brother William; sisters Elsie Gouvea and Elizabeth Castro, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Jane C. Takara, also known as "Yago" or "Ufuya," 84, of Honolulu, a retired proprietor of Jane Store, died May 8 in Island Respite Care. She was born in South Hilo. She is survived by husband Charles M.; sons Roy M., Raymond M., Francis M. and Arthur M.; daughter Mae A. Katahara; brothers George Y. and Robert K. Kaneshiro; sisters Mildred M. Higa, Molly S. Feliciano A. Vea, 90, of Waimea, Kauai, a retired truck driver with Gay & Robinson Sugar Co., died Monday in Kauai Veterans Hospital. He was born in the Philippines.
