The Weekly Eater
UH-OH, you forgot to make dining reservations Sunday, as in, Mother's Day. You have 5 minutes
to grab a tableTough one. Most tables are booked this time of year. Few are willing, it seems, to brave the task of whipping up a feast for mom, for it's a lose-lose proposition. If you botch the meal, mom will take over the kitchen or worse, fret, and that's no way to spend her day. If you upstage her, well, get used to eating alone. You may not get as many family dinner invitations afterward.
The wise, at this point, could simply gather a picnic basket full of mom's favorite edibles and wake up early to reserve a desirable spot at a beach park.
But for those with their hearts set on more formal surroundings, for the next 5 minutes a handful of tables are available at the following restaurants. Integral to the mass feeding phenomenon that is Mother's Day are requirements of Prime Rib Au Jus, Eggs Benedict and Strawberries. The initials P, E and/or S will identify which of the key ingredients are on the menu. You add the love:
