tournamentThe Rainbows and Texas-El Paso are tied at 12-over-par 300 yesterday at The Golf Club at Castle Hill. Fresno State led at 4-under 284.
Ryan King of Fresno State was the individual leader at 4-under 68, while teammate Todd Rose is one stroke back at 69.
Jaime Matsumura led the Rainbows, tied with four others for fourth place at 1-under 71.
Russ Nygaard and Scott Carlyle are tied with six others for 16th at 3-over 75, Louis Mexia was tied for 36th at 7-over 79, and Norman-Ganin Asao was 38th at 8-over 80.
The three-day tournament continued today.
UH men's hoops camp
The University of Hawaii men's basketball summer camp for boys and girls 5-17 years old will have two sessions in June at the Stan Sheriff Center..The first will be June 9-11, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; the second June 12-14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
UH coach Riley Wallace, his assistants and top mainland and high school coaches will conduct the sessions, assisted by current and former Rainbows.
Cost is $150 per camper per session. For applications and more information, call 956-6501.
The registration deadline is May 26.
Noenoe golf coming up
Moanalua's Frank Jordon and Olomana's Yoshiko Koyama will defend their men's and women's titles in the 26th annual Noenoe Invitational golf tournament May 27-28 at Volcano Golf and Country Club on the Big Island.The event is open to men and women 18 years and up with established USGA handicaps (maximum 35 for men, 40 for women).

Tinman entry deadline
May 22 is the postmark entry deadline for the 20th annual Tinman Triathlon, to be held July 16 , starting in Ala Moana Park and finishing in Kapiolani Park.Entry fee for the 800-meter swim/40K bike ride/10K run is $50. Entry forms are available at most running and bike stores.
Boxing championships
The 2000 Hawaii State Junior Olympic Boxing Championships will be held Saturday at the Waianae Regional Park Gym at 7 p.m.Winners of the Junior Olympic Division (15-16 years old) will advance to the national championships.
