'Making the Band' pulled

They're already making some scheduling tweaks at ABC as the May sweeps derby heats up. Preparing for a tight fight with NBC in the key adults 18-49 demographic, ABC has yanked the sitcom "Talk to Me" and the reality boy-band series "Making the Band" this week, replacing them with reruns of "The Drew Carey Show" and "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," respectively.

"Talk to Me" and "Making the Band" were scheduled to leave the airwaves after this week anyway, but yesterday's announcement hastens their departures.

"Making the Band," follows eight young singers who are vying for a position in a new boy band, O-Town. (See Rant & Rave for an examination of how hard the candidates work.)

ABC promises that "Making the Band" will return to the schedule once May sweeps ends.
