TV celebrities
cook for good cause

They may be good on TV, but can they cook? Even when paired with top island chefs -- can they cook?

The Diamond Head Grill asks this of eight television personalities who've been paired with eight chefs to cook for a benefit brunch on Sunday.

"Lights, Camera, Cook ... A Celebrity Brunch Fundraiser" will raise money for the James Beard Foundation, a national culinary organization.

Here's how it works: The celebrity teams prepare their brunch specialties, then paid guests get to eat them and vote for their favorites.

Participating chefs include Alan Wong, George Mavrothalassitis, Philippe Padovani and David Reardon, host chef from the Diamond Head Grill. They'll cook with Kim Gennaula, Malia Mattoch, Guy Hagi and Manolo Morales.

Tickets are $75; $600 for corporate tables of six. Brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 922-3734 for tickets or more information.
