Children grieving the loss of a loved one may get help at Hospice Hawaii's third annual Camp Ka Pilina Pulama, "The Caring Connection."

The day camp will be June 24-25 at Kalama Beach Park, Kailua, for children ages 5 to 17.

The camp will provide activities for the children and give them a chance to share feelings, as well as develop coping skills, self-esteem and trust.

Professional and trained volunteer counselors will be provided.

"Children are sometimes called forgotten grievers because when death strikes, adults receive most attention," said George Osakoda, Hospice Hawaii bereavement coordinator.

Call Osakoda at 924-9255 for an application.

Hospice Hawaii is a nonprofit, community-based organization that provides end-of-life care for terminally ill people and support for their families and loved ones.

It was founded in 1979.
