Henry J. Akana, 80, of Honolulu, a Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Hawaiian Telephone Company retiree, died Wednesday at home. He was also a medic with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, a musician and a retired Territory of Hawaii police officer. He is survived by sons Jeffrey and Henry J.; daughters Coralia Muntal and Jossann Miyasaka; brother Joseph, seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
