Henry Walker Jr. rites
scheduled Wednesday

Funeral services for Henry Walker Jr., the former chairman of Amfac, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew's Cathedral.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Child and Family Service or the Straub Foundation.

Walker, 78, died Friday at 78.

Henry J. Akana, 80, of Honolulu, a Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Hawaiian Telephone Company retiree, died Wednesday at home. He was also a medic with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, a musician and a retired Territory of Hawaii police officer. He is survived by sons Jeffrey and Henry J.; daughters Coralia Muntal and Jossann Miyasaka; brother Joseph, seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Services: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Borthwick Mortuary. Call after 6 p.m. Commital: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Casual attire.

Annie K.Y.W. Ho, 94, of Mililani, a Ritz department store retiree, died April 1 in Hale Nani. She was born in Waipahu. She is survived by sons Calvin and Robert, and four grandchildren. Services were private.

Shizuko Ishii, 92, of Honolulu died Thursday in Leahi Hospital. She is survived by sons Walter T. and Roger M.; daughters Jean S. Uchiyama, Doris A. Watanabe, Janet S. Kobayashi, and Norma T. Kahalewai; 27 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Borthwick Mortuary. Memorial services at 6 p.m. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Thursday at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery. Casual attire.

Elise M. McGann, 68, of Honolulu will be remembered in services today at 6 p.m. at Borthwick Mortuary, Mauka Chapel. Incorrect information for an obituary published Saturday was provided by the mortuary.

Ethel Y. Oda, of Honolulu, died March 31 in Kaiser Hospital. She was born in Kalihi. She is survived by daughters Trudy Ann Celebrado and Dory Linn Y. Oda-Viernes; brothers and sisters, and four grandchildren. Services were private.

Tsugie "Sadie" Okamoto, 73, of Waipahu, a retired seamstress for Alfred Shaheen Fashions, died April 5 in St. Francis Hospital. She was born in Ewa. She is survived by husband Hisao; brother Hideo Tanouye, and sister Elaine Mita. Services were private.

Iris Riber, 72, of Honolulu, owner of Iris Riber Realty and past president of the Real Estate Association of Hawaii, died April 2 in Queen's Hospital. She was born in Rome, Italy. She is survived by daughter Evelina Yamakawa. Services were private.

George R. Story, 63, of Kawaihae, Hawaii, a retired City of San Diego employee, died April 4 at home. He was born in Portland, Oregon. He is survived by wife Judy; son John S. Story; daughters Roxanne Parks and Mary Afifi; brother James Story, and two grandchildren. Services were private.

Yoshio Takara, 82, of Honolulu, a retired meat cutter for R&R Restaurants, died April 6 in Queen's Hospital. He was born in Waiakea, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Kiyoko; son Francis T.; daughters Caroline E. Kajiwara, Alethea A. Takara and Bridget E. Takara; brothers Eddie and Richard, and two grandchildren. Services were private.
