UH-Hilo loses
another one-run game

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The University of Hawaii-Hilo baseball team lost its third one-run decision on the current six-game Texas road trip yesterday.

Shawn Thompson pitched Texas Christian's first complete game of the year to best the Vulcans' Thomas Ford, 2-1, in a Western Athletic Conference game.

The Vulcans scored their run in the first inning. Brian Rooke singled, stole second and moved to third on Jacob Ryan's sacrifice bunt. Rooke scored on Keola Park's sacrifice fly to center field.

However, the Vulcans did not have another runner reach third base the rest of the game.

The Horned Frogs tied the game in the sixth inning on Erick Macha's leadoff home run, just the third hit off of Ford.

TCU scored the game-wining run in the seventh. Brad Rogers doubled to left center and advanced to third on Jason Price's sacrifice bunt. Marshall Wilson then singled to score Rogers.
