13 hits to beat VulcansFORT WORTH, Texas - Mark Hamilton has Hawaii-Hilo's number. The Texas Christian star drove in five runs on four hits to lead the Horned Frogs to an 11-5 win over the Vulcans yesterday in a Western Athletic Conference game
In four games against Hawaii-Hilo this season, Hamilton has 10 hits and raised his conference batting average to .483.
The Vulcans (14-24 overall, 5-14 WAC) were behind 5-0 in the top of the seventh when they scored two runs on a triple by Dana McCracken.
But TCU (15-25, 6-9 WAC) pulled away in the bottom of the inning, sending 11 men to the plate en route to six runs. Hamilton drove in two runs with two base hits in the rally.
Chris Bradshaw (4-4) scattered eight hits through seven innings to pick up the win. Luke Holscher (2-6) took the loss for Hawaii-Hilo.
The teams continue the series with a game today at 8:35 a.m. HST.
