Jade Savusa The Owls' senior torched University High for a season-high 36 points Saturday in a 72-59 victory. Savusa scored 25 of her points in the second half, helping Mid-Pacific break open a close game.

Jordyn Danner, Kapaa: Scored 26 points in a victory over Kaui that gave the 4-0 Warriors the first-round KIF title.Samantha Alapa, Sacred Hearts: Scored on a bank shot with seconds remaining against then-No. 4 Punahouto lead the Lancers to one of their biggest basketball wins ever. Alapa finished with six points in the 39-38 win.
Brandy Richardson, Kalaheo: Averaged 21.5 points in wins against McKinley and Kaimuki. Against the Bulldogs on Saturday, she grabbed 10 rebounds, had six steals and made 8-of-13 field goals.
Jodi Nakashima, Roosevelt: Scored 21 and 16 points as the Rough Riders split a pair of games against McKinley and Farrington. In the Farrington game, she nailed three treys.
Aritta Lane, Aiea: Poured in 28 points in an overtime loss to No. 3 Moanalua on Friday.
TENNIS
Erin Hoe, Mililani: The No. 1 singles player remained perfect in OIA play by beating Christy Kaneshiro of Pearl City on Saturday 6-0, 6-1, at the OIA Team Championships, helping the Trojans take the title 3-1.Joel Maeshiro and Jeremy Perron, Mililani: The doubles team, playing in the No. 1 spot, downed Kaiser's top pair 6-4, 6-3 to help the boys win the Team Championships 3-2 on Saturday.
BASEBALL
Sean Paiva, St. Louis: Knocked in four runs with two doubles and a triple against Maryknoll on Tuesday and pitched a one-hit complete game Saturday against University/Hawaii Baptist, with another triple at the plate.Reid Santos, Castle: Senior pitcher was 2-0, throwing a two-hitter against Kaiser and working six innings of two-hit ball in a win against Roosevelt. He struck out 10 Cougars and 12 Rough Riders, while only walking a total of five batters.
Ikaika Hollinger, Kalaheo: Pitched six innings of one-hit ball against McKinley Wednesday and hit a three-run double. Also was 2-3 with a double in a Thursday loss to Kaimuki.
TRACK AND FIELD
Michelle Murphy, Mililani: Ran on two winning relay teams (4X200 and 4X400) and one second-place relay. The 4X200 team just missed breaking the meet record by .6 of a second.Kim Higa, Roosevelt: Recorded a pole vault of 10-3, becoming only the second girl to clear the 10-foot mark since the event was introduced at the state meet three years ago. Her vault was over a foot better than the second-place mark.
Robby Philipp, Mililani: Ran on three first-place relay teams to lead the Trojans to the team championship in the OIA Relays.
Chris Chong, Kalaheo: Won the triple jump at the OIA Relays, was on the winning sprint medley relay team and on the third place 4X100 and 4X400 relays.
Houston Ala, Kamehameha: Won the discus and shotput events at the ILH Relays, with distances of 163-10 and 51-2, respectively.
GOLF
Michael Goto, Kaiser: Shot a 76 in the first round of the OIA Individual Championships Monday at the Oahu Country Club.Justin Fuentes, Aiea: Co-leader with Goto after also firing a 76 in the first round of the OIA Championships.

Interscholastic League of Honolulu athletic directors have approved judo as a league sport, starting next year. But ILH Executive Secretary Clay Benham said it's not for sure yet that competition will start that soon. Judo coming to the ILH?
"Before it's sanctioned, it must have three schools with teams," Benham said.
Iolani is in, and other athletic directors are exploring the idea, Benham said.
Meanwhile, Oahu Interscholastic Association play opened last weekend. The girls from Pearl City, Leilehua, Waipahu, Mililani, Kaimuki, Kahuku, Castle and McKinley won their matches, as did the boys from Campbell, Waipahu, Pearl City, Kahuku, Kaiser, McKinley and Kaimuki.
BASEBALL: ILH showdown on tap
With Iolani's victory over Damien and Kamehameha's loss to Punahou yesterday, the Raiders and Warriors share first place in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball standings at 8-2.They meet Thursday at Ala Wai Field at 6:30 p.m. The first game, at 3:45, matches University/Hawaii Baptist and Punahou.
BASKETBALL: Full OIA West lineup tonight
No. 3-ranked Moanalua makes the long drive to Waianae this evening for a 7 p.m. game, as the Seariders try to become the first Oahu Interscholastic Association West team to control the tempo and the outcome against the run-and-gun Menehunes.Other OIA West games have Aiea at Campbell, Mililani at Radford, Pearl City at Waialua and Nanakuli at Waipahu.
