The Iolani baseball team proved that it is in the same league with St. Louis pitcher Brandon League.

The host Raiders touched the top pro prospect for seven hits and five walks, and beat the Crusaders, 6-5, yesterday.

Iolani improved to 6-2 with its fourth straight win and St. Louis fell to 5-3.

League struck out eight, but that number was OK with Iolani coach Dean Yonamine.

"To be honest, I didn't think we could score six runs against him," Yonamine said. "We told our guys keep it under double-digit K's, and we'll have a chance."

Left-handed batters Blaine Umeda, Reid Tanaka, Kila Kaaihue and Kevin Kam combined to go 4-for-10 against League.
