Rainbows rule
on road trip

SAN DIEGO -- Add Clay Stanley to the ever-expanding list of University of Hawaii men's volleyball players who have played more than one position this season.

Stanley, normally an outside hitter -- and one of the nation's best -- volunteered to play middle last night when coach Mike Wilton wanted to rest freshman Geronimo Chala.

It probably didn't matter who played where, as the Rainbows dissected UC San Diego, 15-11, 15-5, 15-7, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match at RIMAC Arena.

UH completed its four-matches-in-four-nights road trip unbeaten. Hawaii is 16-8 overall, and has all but clinched an MPSF playoff berth with an 11-6 mark and two league matches remaining.
