of a checkup this weekendCity Councilman John Henry Felix is home recuperating and working after being hospitalized for a mild stroke March 19, his office said in a statement today.
Felix said he looks forward to getting back to work in his office, pending results of a checkup this weekend, "and I wish to thank all the many kind individuals who have inquired about me.
"Thanks to 'Olelo, I've been able to keep up with all the details regarding the city's budget process and other committee activities," Felix said in the statement.
Felix admitted himself to Queen's Medical Center for tests and observations after feeling fatigued and lightheaded during City Council Budget Committee hearings March 20.
An initial CAT scan showed no signs of a stroke, but further tests on March 21 showed Felix had suffered a mild stroke, his office said.
The 69-year-old councilman has made a "remarkable recovery" to date, and a full recovery is anticipated, according to his doctor. No surgery or therapy is needed.
