girls basketballNicole Uperesa hit a layup with eight seconds left as Castle upset visiting McKinley, 34-33, last night in an Oahu Interscholastic Association East girls' basketball game. The Knights sealed their first victory in the regular season against two losses when the Tigers' Amber Ehia missed a 17-footer at the buzzer.
McKinley fell to 1-1.
Shantel Tilton led Castle with 12 points, while McKinley's Traci Torralva was game-high with 14.

Nakashima, a junior shooting-guard, finished with a game high 18 points.

KAHUKU 52, KAIMUKI 49: April Atuaia capped a 21-point performance with three free throws in the final minutes carrying the Red Raiders past the visiting Bulldogs.
Dalia Solia scored 16 points for Kaimuki (2-1), which led, 34-30, after three quarters but couldn't hold off a late charge by Kahuku (2-1).
