Star-Bulletin staff
from LionsDesiree Duran's three-hit pitching and Kristin Anderson's bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth inning gave Hawaii a 1-0 victory over visiting Loyola Marymount and a sweep of their softball doubleheader last night.
The Wahine (11-12) won the first game, 5-3, scoring all their runs in the second inning. Melissa McGie drove in two with a double and Tyree Woodruff singled in two more to key the uprising.
In the second game, Duran and the Lions' Corrianne Rogalsky hooked up in a scoreless extra-inning duel until the UH ninth.
Demetria Costa drew a leadoff walk, took second on a wild pitch and third on Dana Degen's sacrifice bunt. The next two batters were walked intentionally, filling the bases and setting the stage for Anderson's deciding hit to center.
