Sea Warriors
shade Spartans

Jeremiah Yacap's two-out double in the bottom of the ninth inning scored Ryan Blood from first base, giving Hawaii Pacific a 10-9 baseball victory over San Jose State at Hans L'Orange Park last night.

The Sea Warriors (13-10) led, 9-5, before the Spartans (18-10) rallied for two runs in the eighth and two more in the ninth to tie it.

Two shutout wins for HPU

Jennifer Woodard pitched a one-hitter and Susie Schoales followed with a five-hitter as Hawaii Pacific (22-7) swept a softball doubleheader from Columbia (Mo.) College, 4-0 and 2-0, yesterday at the Sea Warriors' Windward diamond.

The Cougars are 19-8.

Seasiders win one of two

Melinda Clarke went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs in BYU-Hawaii's 14-6 first-game victory over the College of Notre Dame yesterday at Belmont, Calif.

The host Argonauts rallied for a 4-3 win in the nightcap and a split of their softball doubleheader.

Water polo romp for UH

Four goals by sophomore Alyssa Garrick led the visiting University of Hawaii women's water polo team to a 19-4 rout of Santa Clara yesterday.

The eighth-ranked Wahine improved to 14-7 while the Broncos dropped to 6-11.
