continue slideLess than two weeks ago, the University of Hawaii softball team played the No. 2 team in the nation on equal terms.
Yesterday, the Wahine lost for the 12th time in their last 15 games, and were the first team eliminated in their own event.
Nittaidai clobbered Hawaii, 14-1, in the final day of the Bank of Hawaii Invitaitional at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
Wahine catcher Dana Degen, third baseman Alison Rapanot and outfielder Demetria Costa were named to the all-tournament team.
In the championship game, Tokyo Women's College of Physical Education held off Oregon State, 4-3. The Beavers threatened with three runs in the seventh but fell short.
Mayumi Hirashita's two-run homer in the third inning proved to be the difference. The Beavers rallied with three runs in the top of the seventh but fell short.
