Star-BulletinRaylene Howard was honored by the Western Athletic Conference for the fourth consecutive season yesterday.
The University of Hawaii senior was named Co-Player of the Year along with Karlin Kennedy of Southern Methodist.
Howard, a 5-foot-11 forward, leads the WAC in scoring with a 17.1 average. Also named to the All-WAC first team were Hawaii's Kylie Galloway, Marla Brumfield of Rice, and D-dra Rucker, SMU.
Amy Pack of Texas-El Paso was named Freshman of the Year and Kathy McConnell-Miller of Tulsa is the Coach of the Year.
Howard, from Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia, was WAC Freshman of the Year in 1996-97, an All WAC-second team pick in 1997-98, and the WAC Pacific Division Player of the Year in 1998-99.

All-WAC picks
Star-BulletinAfter being shut out last year from postseason honors, three University of Hawaii men's basketball players were named yesterday to All-Western Athletic Conference teams.
It's the most selections the Rainbows (16-11, 5-9 WAC) have had since the 1993-94 season.
Marquette Alexander, Hawaii's 6-foot-8 senior center, was named to the All-WAC second team while 6-6 sophomore guard Predrag Savovic and 6-9 junior power forward Troy Ostler were named to the All-Newcomers Team.
It's the first time that Hawaii has ever placed more than one player on the newcomer team.
"Getting selected to the newcomer team means those guys have shot at All-WAC next season," said Hawaii head coach Riley Wallace.
"That's great," said an elated Alexander who received the news of his selection to the All-WAC second team while dining with his girlfriend last night. "I didn't make anything last year, so I'm really happy with this."
He is expected to play pro after he leaves Hawaii but Alexander said last night he still doesn't know where that will be.
"Marquette was one of the guys who turned it around for us from a 6-20 season," said Wallace. The Rainbows won only three conference games last season.
Alexander led Hawaii in scoring with 14.8 points a game and rebounding with 7.7 rebounds a game. He also ranked in the WAC's top 10 in field goal percentage (.517) and free throw shooting (.779).
"It's a great compliment to our program seeing that we haven't had the kind of WAC season we wanted,'' said associate head coach Bob Nash. "We have a nucleus here to build from even though we have to have some more players around these guys."
