A man accused of videotaping girls' breasts and buttocks was charged by an Oahu grand jury yesterday with additional counts of touching girls and videotaping them.

The new indictment against Stuart Novick, 55, includes 19 counts of third-degree sexual assault for allegedly touching two girls younger than 14 on the buttocks with his hand or penis, and doing the same to a woman who was mentally incapacitated and physically helpless.

The alleged crimes occurred between January and September last year, according to the indictment.

Novick also was charged with three counts of promoting child abuse in the first degree by preparing pornographic materials.

Novick originally was charged with 59 counts, including child abuse and third-degree sexual assault of two girls, ages 12 and 13. The videotaping allegedly occurred between June 1995 and July 1996.

Novick is being held without bail. The state has argued that he is a danger to the community, and wanted to ensure he had no further contact with the alleged victims and other girls he had recruited for his environmental group, Protect the Planet.
