Double Grammy Award-winner Sting will make his Hawaii solo debut in two concerts in April when he brings his "Brand New Day" tour here.

Sting, who this week bagged both of the Grammy Awards he was nominated for -- best male pop vocal performance, and best pop album for "Brand New Day" -- will perform at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on April 26 and at the Blaisdell Arena on April 27.

Ticket sale dates and prices will be announced later.

The next Sting single, "After the Rain Has Fallen," will be released next month.

Immediately after his Hawaii concerts, Sting is one of several artists who will appear April 30 at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

Sting last year recorded a new version of Noel Harrison's 1968 Oscar-winning song, "The Windmills of Your Mind," for MGM's remake of "The Thomas Crown Affair."

A book about the recording artist also is coming out next month. "A Sting in the Tale," to be released March 23, was written by Jim Berryman, a schoolmate and a close friend for 35 years.

The authorized book is filled with anecdotes from Sting's school days to the height of his fame.
