Roosevelt boys' basketball coach Jon Chung isn't asking for much. Just a weak battery, an empty gas tank or a flat tire.

"We've got to hope their bus breaks down or something," Chung said, speaking of the Radford Rams' transportation to the Blaisdell Arena for tonight's 7 p.m. Oahu Interscholastic Association championship game with his Rough Riders.

"They've got quickness, they've got shooters and they've got rebounders," Chung said. "They're hard to stop.

Radford is 12-0 and the consensus No. 1 team in the state. The Rams also have history on their side, with nine OIA championships, including a 1973 overtime victory over Roosevelt.

But the Rough Riders are hot, having won their last five games after starting the season 5-2. They outscored Mililani, 24-11, in the fourth quarter Wednesday to win their semifinal, 59-53, while Radford struggled with Kalaheo before winning, 46-43.

Senior Maulia LaBarre, the Rough Riders' big man at 6-foot-7, scored 12 points and came down with 10 rebounds against the Trojans.

Radford center Sa Tanuvasa scored 17 points in the Rams' win over the Mustangs.
