Hawaii Dental plan picks new leader
Jonathon R. Won will become president and chief executive of Hawaii Dental Service on Aug. 1. The dental-plan business said Won will replace Wesley T. Park, who is retiring after five years with HDS.Won has been executive director of the HDA and before that executive director of the Hawaii Medical Association. He has served on many task forces and committees to improve Hawaii business and government and has held directorships in a number of community organizations.
HDS is a nonprofit dental service corporation, providing benefit plans to subscriber groups.
Auto Show moving to convention center
Occupying the Hawaii Convention Center for the first time, the First Hawaiian International Auto Show will run April 7-9 and display the 2000 and 2001 models from more than 20 automobile manufacturers.The Friday-through-Sunday show is presented by Motor Trend magazine and sponsored by First Hawaiian Bank, the Hawaii Automobile Dealers Association and the Hawaii Newspaper Agency. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for military and children ages 7 through 12. Children six and under will be admitted free.
In the past, the annual show has been held at the Neal Blaisdell Center.
