Hawaii forward Raylene Howard has been named Western Athletic Conference women's basketball player of the week.

The senior from New South Wales, Australia, led the Wahine to a 72-56 win over Texas Christian and a 63-51 victory over Southern Methodist last week.

Howard averaged 19 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game.

She leads the WAC in scoring with a season average of 17.4 points per game.

The Wahine (17-5) have won eight straight games.
