Children display a range of expressions yesterday as
they swing from vertical to upside down on a ride at
the Punahou Carnival. It was a crowded opening day
at the annual event. The Punahou School Carnival runs
from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. today. It includes rides,
food, a white-elephant sale, skill booths, ceramics, plants,
produce, leis and a live auction.

Every seat was taken as the children were
having fun on the rides.

There was also face and body painting at the carnival.
Nick Severg, 9, left, and his cousin, Timothy Moody,
6, tried the checkerboard look.
