Cindy Luis has been named sports editor of the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, Managing Editor David Shapiro announced today. Luis, 45, has worked in the sports department since October 1981 as a reporter, columnist and assistant sports editor.
She also has coordinated the high school and recreation pages, as well as the Olympic sections, and served briefly as the Sunday news editor.
Before coming to the Star-Bulletin, Luis was sports editor of the Pacific Daily News for three years.
The San Diego native graduated with honors from UCLA in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in communication studies.
