Joe Montana, the former San Francisco 49ers superstar, will appear at a charity autograph-signing session from 9 to 11 a.m., Feb. 5, at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel. Montana charity signing

Semi-pro league in works
The North American Football League plans to set up a semi-pro league on Oahu for this spring.The NAFL hopes to create six teams to play in the Oahu Football League. The teams would be from the North Shore, Windward, Central and Leeward areas, Hawaii Kai and the Waianae coast.
OFL teams would play each other twice during the regular season and the champion would be invited to compete in the NAFL playoffs on the mainland in November.
Waikoloa offers golf deals
The Waikoloa Beach Resorts has introduced a new club for Hawaii residents at its two golf courses.Club Waikoloa features reduced greens fees, advance tee times and merchandise discounts at the King's Course and The Beach Course.
The cost of joining the new club is a $10 donation to the Waikoloa Foundation, a charity for the preservation of Hawaiian culture.
The club offer is good through the end of the year.
Junior Vets/Seniors tennis
Entries close Feb. 4, for the Ala Moana Junior Vets/Seniors Tennis Tournament, to be played Feb. 12-13 at the Diamond Head Tennis Center.Men and women 30-80 years old will play singles and doubles. Entree fees are $3.50 for singles, $5 for doubles teams.

Vulcans lose to Torreros
Nick Gontmaher scored from third base on a bunt by Mike McCoy with one out in the top of the 10th inning, giving the University of San Diego a 6-5 baseball victory over host Hawaii-Hilo last night at Wong Stadium.Marty Hayes went 3-for-5 for the Torreros (3-2) while McCoy and Kevin Reese had two hits apiece.
Darin Miyake, the fifth of six pitchers for the Vulcans (4-3), took the loss.
